I beg my lungs to inflate,
to fill with air,
to speak your name or scream,
- that I do not know.
I beg my heart to keep beating,
despite wanting to lurch from my chest.
To run towards you or from you,
- That I do not know.
I beg my legs to hold me up,
put one foot in front of the other.
To walk me forward or off a ledge,
- that I do not know.
What I do know is,
when you told me all was over,
I got on my hands and knees
and I begged.
