Theater project - CD - Opening

Opening: Titanium by Collin McLoughlin

                                                 "Titanium" (originally by David Guetta)

You shout it out, but I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud, not saying much
I'm criticized, but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium, I am titanium

Cut me down, but it's you who had further to fall
Ghost town, haunted love, Raise your voice
Sticks and stones may break my bones
I'm talking loud, not saying much

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium, I am titanium

Stone-hard, machine guns, firing at the ones who run
Stone-hard, those bulletproof guns

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium

You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium
You shoot me down
But I won't fall, I am titanium, I am titanium

This is a Ruth Song, but also the opening song. I chse this to be the opening song because i wanted something soft but strong to represent Ruth and to open up the CD because the first glimpse we see of Ruth is a woman up early to get her family started and moving. My first impression of Ruth was a gentle woman who was strong and i felt this song represented that. The words "I'm criticized, but all your bullets ricochet/You shoot me down, but I get up" especially make me think of her. She has to deal with people like Mrs. Johnson and Mama judging her and watching how  she is with her son and she is just resilient and strong. I would imagine the song being played up to "fire away, fire away". After those lines the words would stop playing and the music continue quietly while she gets her son up and calls to Walter.
